about
Ahoy! Tim Gill and his Homebodies set sail with this great number from 1925. As the boys play their respective parts from their homes in quarantine, there's only one place they REALLY want to be...Peoria!
lyrics
Verse 1:
S. O. S., S. O. S., Captain we are lost,
Our ship is wallowing in the sea, by wind and wave we're tossed.
Lifeboats here, lifeboats there, Hear the screams and moans,
The captain shouts "All hands on deck!" and says in trembling tones:
Chorus 1:
Oh, how I wish't I was in Peoria, Peoria tonight.
Oh how I miss the "goils" in Peoria, Peoria, tonight.
Oh you can pick a morning gloria right off the sidewalks of Peoria.
Oh, how I wish't I was in Peoria, Peoria tonight.
Verse 2:
What a song, what a song, Hear the wild applause,
The Metropolian Op'ra House is crowded to the doors,
"Bravo" here, "bravo" there, "Bravo" with a bang,
Gatzi Katzi sang a song, and this is what he sang:
Chorus 2:
Oh, how I wish't I was in Peoria, Peoria tonight.
Oh how I miss the flies in Peoria, Peoria, tonight.
Why should I sing Toreadoria when I can sing about Peoria.
Oh, how I wish't I was in Peoria, Peoria tonight.

Tim Gill is a dynamic, award-winning vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and tongue-in-cheek comedian who combines
timeless love songs, wry knee-slapping humor, and inventive original material; he wraps them in high-octane, hard-swinging arrangements to create a dynamic show that puts an exciting 21st century twist on the Great American Songbook....more

Hearing Naomi open up her voice on this blues track is great! This very lively record is a great pick-me-up. Fine musicianship, solid singer, highly swinging. Alex P

I love this ENTIRE album!!! How to chose a favourite (Well Read Baby?!) Keenan's album is a tour de force of songs that were written now, but he's so totally internalized the style that they sound like they are from another century! The musicianship, arrangements, and the voice of Laura Windley are great. This is my fave vocal showing from Laura, too! (and she has lots of great records) Can't recommend this highly enough Alex P
